Doyald Young, a man who needs no introduction in this space, has passed away.
While The Case & Point would be honoured to feature to the prolific craft and career of Young’s custom lettering in the future, today we would simply like to acknowledge his legacy and influence as it lives on the work of other calligraphers, illustrators and type designers.

A friend, a true craftsman. I first saw his work in the first book I bought in 1961. It was ‘Lettering for Advertising’ by Mortimer Leach (who taught Doyald). He has been and will be forever a great inspiration.
